A master key system allows the owner of a building or company to have the convenience of using one master key to access every door while limiting tenants or employees to only those areas where they are authorized. It also allows department managers to carry a lower level master key which gives them access to all offices in their department while excluding them from other departments. Individuals needing only access to their own office can have a key to that office which will not work anywhere else in that department.
